Image of the day still mushrooming about

Still mucking about with the mushrooms. In 3D animation, the shaders control what the surface of an object looks like. The object is defined by a mesh made up of nodes, and the shader wraps an image around it. Various types of shaders and various setting can do different things with objects in the image. Since yesterday, I have applied a more sophisticated shader to all the solid objects in this image.

The end result is that the image has more depth.

    • I’m using a software package called DAZ3D, a basic version of which is free. It takes a while to get the hang of getting the best out of it. You need to buy many of the better modules and units. I don’t yet have a tablet, but I can see that being one of my future purchases. Also, 3d art is very different from working with photoshop, although both can be great fun.
